Baba Purandara's Shivcahritra was very popular among the Bahujans in last two decades. He misused his popularity to impose Bamani dominancy (Dadu Kondadeo and Ramdas Guru of Shivaji) over Bahujan. What he has written in his books is copied by 'Balbharti' in their educational books to establish Bamani dominancy.

Baba Purandara collected huge amount through the Shivkathan and 'Janata Raja's' shows and donated that amount not to Shivchatrapati memorial projects but Savarkar's movie project (Daily Lokmat-27/07/2003). Savarkar's 'Saha Suvarna Pane' insulted Chatrapati Shivaji Raje and glorified Bamani revolutionary Pushyamitra Shunga and Raghoba (Those flagged off 'Bhagava' across Atak are Shinde and Holkar not Raghoba Bhat).

Baba Purandara's Bamani attitude further reached the level to create James Laine, whose book has insulted Bahujana's pride Rashtramata Jijau.
